#35 The Last One

one of your own...something leadership-y...you'll think of something...go for it

#34 the end of the me to we journey

how fitting is the anonymous story that wraps up the book? (265)

what will you take from it?

#33 one public figure today you really admire ...

because of who they are and what they represent (not just because of a talent they might have)

who is it and why did you choose him / her?

#32 your contribution

so,, time to pause for reflection......
Think back to the beginning of the semester and ask the question: “How have I led?”....what have you done to contribute to your school and / or community?....be specific....list the events/activities you have been involved with and outline your role..what have you done well?...what could have been improved?....any overall thoughts

and most importantly, what should your grade be?....for the application...the doing, the contributing, the attitude, the participation in school events, give yourself a mark out of 100
____________ %

and , finally,
You have read a lot of report card comments...write yours for GPP 3O1 based on the semester...really...write your report card comment for this course:

#31 Re: Randy Pausch.....tigger or eeyeore?

comment on this incredible man and the legacy he leaves....

some of his lessons:

Never underestimate the importance of having fun.....I'm going to keep having fun because there's no other way to play it

Experience is what you get when you didn't get what you wanted

No one is pure evil. Find the best in everybody. Wait long enough and people will surprise and impress you.

Brick walls are there for a reason. They are there to give us chance to show how badly we want something, and they keep out those who do not want it badly enough.

It's not about achieving yoiur dreams but living your life. If you live your life the right way, the dreams will come to you.

We can't change the cards we're dealt, just how we play the hand. If I am not as depressed as you think I should be, I'm sorry to disappoint you.

and, as always, it's better to be a Tigger than an Eeyore

#30..Coach Carrroll

what lessons can would-be leaders take from Coach Carroll's example?

20 Proven Things All Great Leaders Always Do « Leadership Freak

20 Proven Things All Great Leaders Always Do

In an unstable, inconsistent world, great leaders are consistent and stable.

Consistently do these 20 things and you’ll be a great leader.

Tell the truth.
Demand the truth.
Act in the best interest of their organization.
Get results through others.
Celebrate the success of others.
Challenge the status quo.
Press into the future while honoring the past.
Try.
Receive criticism.
Learn.
Inspire.
Improve.
Encourage.
Listen more than speak.
Take responsibility.
Show gratitude.
Pursue clarity and specificity.
Engage in self-reflection.
Act in alignment with who they are.
Rest.

#9 Keith Taylor's Story (pp 29-32)

your take on this story?

#8 blood diamond follow up

the film showed how our decisons here (which diamonds to purchase etc) affect lives there....we talked about how our lust for newer and shinier cellphones is the cause of the civil war in Congo which has claimed over 1,000,000 lives (http://www.javafilms.fr/spip.php?article8)you can watch it at: http://video.google.com/videoplay?docid=4473700036349997790#)

me to we is about living ethically...about our behaviours , attitudes and choices and how they affect others

so...simple question, is it reasonable to expect North Americans to think about their purchasing choices (whether our choice was made in a sweatshop,,,whether it is the cause of a civil war,...whether it is harmful to the planet etc...etc)

simple question...really...can we expect North Americans to consider these things?

it is strictly an opinion question...answer honestly

#7 one great idea for next week

a spirit-type event to run one or more days next week at lunch.....banish winter blahs and prepare for march break

rules:

fun
not harmful
not too explensive

so...share it in your blog and be prepared to share it with the class tomorrow
